The basket arms are straight with no apparent bending with the white rubber grips having worn away from the ends. The ratchet teeth still hold firmly. The nifty(!) part of this stand is the “DIAL” adjustment to hold a snare drum firmly in place, a feature not found on most any other snare drum stands of this era. This stand was obviously taken well care of and cherished as the great and valuable piece of gear this it is. It stand sits straight and upright without wobble.
The clamping wing nut DOES have to be very tight to prevent slippage and a previous owner did use a permanent marker to mark where the height was at his preference. This stand is ready to use right out of the box but you may want to do a light cleaning first. i am leaving that up to you.
