For your consideration, an 18″ ZILDJIAN Z series POWER CRASH CYMBAL in GREAT used condition! This cymbal sports the six pointed star which Zildjian stated, “Allows the alloy to be compressed over a large area. The hammer indentations interlock adding stiffness to lightweight cymbals. Produces powerful, fast crashes with instant attack and quick release.”
When in production, this was Zildjian model was utilized by drummers the likes of Gregg Bissonette, of David Lee Roth, and the late Randy Castillo, of Ozzy Ozbourne, to provide the powerful punctuation to these hard rock acts’ music!
Being firmly a product of the mid-1980s and into the early 1990s, this cymbal sports the BLOCK LETTER ink, although somewhat faded and this cymbal has no serial number which means that it was produced before 1995.
Zildjian described this cymbal as, “Heavy cymbal. Produces a louder, more explosive crash with shorter sustain than A. Zildjian Rock Crash.”
And I kinda dig the hammering pattern myself as it makes me think of the chain mail armor from medieval times which was worn under suits of armor, which made everything heavy metal……..could there be a coincidence?
This used cymbal has fingerprints, tape remnants, smudges, stains and stickmarks and could probably stand to be polished but I am leaving that up to you. The ink is still there albeit faded somewhat.
This cymbal has no cracks, chips or significant keyholing and is ready to be part of your arsenal! The edge is pretty smooth with a few imperfections but nothing major.
This cymbal weighs a tasty 4655 grams.
