a VINTAGE 1960-62 SLINGERLAND 5×14 No. 130 GENE KRUPA CHROME OVER BRASS SOUND KING SNARE DRUM 

 in what I would call SURVIVOR, USED CONDITION!  

This snare drum features the 8 lug construction, Zoomatic throw-off, Chrome Over Brass Stick Rim Shot Hoops and the black and gold NILES, ILLINIOS badge.  With both, the shell and hoops being made of brass, this snare drum is somewhat heavier than the later versions of this model of snare drum.  

So let’s talk condition; the shell and chrome on the shell has scratches, dings and dents.  It could be polished up into a very nice player snare drum.  The Zoomatic throw-off is missing the dial knob. Everything else is there, including the internal muffler.  And while this drum is no where near pristine, it is a pretty rare drum as Slingerland began changing these soon after 1962.

And brass shell snare drums are often the way to go, especially from the early 1960s.
