For your consideration and immense pleasure,
a VINTAGE EARLY 1980s LUDWIG LM404 ACROLITE 5×14″ SNARE DRUM,
in GREAT, USED CONDITION!
This Ludwig snare drum features most of the Original Equipped Manufactured components!
And this one is very clean and the shell’s surface is near perfect – no dents, dings or scratches! It could be disassembled and detailed to perfection but I am leaving that up to you.
This drum is pretty much the same Acrolite from the 1970s but has the Blue & Olive badge with rounded corners which is indicative of an early 1980s production run, espcially when combined with the serial number beginning with “205”.
Most of the original, factory parts are there, excluding the bottom head therefore this drum needs nothing and can be used right out of the box!
Speaking of the badge, the lower left corner has lifted some and will require attention during handling. It may be able to be reglued but that is up to you. Also, as typical of the muffler on these drums, the round grey felt pad has shifted and will need to be addressed at some point.
The batter head is a factory Ludwig “Striders” clear/silver dot batter head over a clear REMO Weatherking “Ambassador snare” bottom head and features the factory Acrolite snare wires which they, themselves, are in very good condition, operated and secured with the P-85/P-32 throw-off and butt combination. The round, grey internal felt muffler is in good condition and is adjusted by the larger round dial knob.
