For your consideration, a pair of VINTAGE LATE 1970s HOLLOW LOGO 14″ ZILDJIAN QUICK BEAT HI HAT CYMBALS in GREAT CONDITION!
A very “seasoned” pair of cymbals, these cymbals weigh in at 1128 grams (top) and 1202 grams (bottom).
Extremely versatile and musical, these hi hats have a rich sound and are the rare and desirable version of the classic Zildjian “Quick Beat Hi Hat” philosophy, describing them as “a medium-heavy weight top cymbal matched and blended to a flat bottom cymbal with four holes instead of a cup, for a controlled sound and a quick beat. Extra-fast response, clean and well defined, extremely funky.”
They are crisp when closed tight but have a great sloshy sound!
And, for those of you who don’t know, the Zildjian cymbals of the 1970s have a different sound and feel from those which are being produced today. You can really tell the difference when you play them! And while not brand spanking new, these hi hats have that typical patina found on many vintage Zildjians which has befriended them down through the years! And I’m going to go out on a limb and simply state that these are exactly the sound you are looking for to use in the recording studio!
