For your consideration and immense pleasure,

a VINTAGE 1970s WHITE MARINE PEARL LUDWIG LW482 “ROCK/CONCERT model 5X14” BLUE & OLIVE BADGE SNARE DRUM

 in GREAT USED CONDITION!

This very rare Ludwig snare drum features 10 classic lugs, fixed to the much sought after clear 3 ply shell with reinforcing hoops.  The snare wires are held in check by the tried and true P-85/P-32 throw-off and butt combination.  The dial controlled felt muffler is still present which means that all of the critical factory parts are still present with this drum.

While not “officially’ considered a Rock/Concert model, due partly to the fact that there wasn’t such a model until the late 1970s, this drum is specifically difficult to nail down as any Ludwig wood shell snare drum, manufactured with 10 lugs is pretty rare, not to mention that this one is the highly desirable 3 ply Maple configuration, combined with the attractive White Marine Pearl finish.  Most Ludwig wood shell snare drums were of the Jazz Festival 8 lug or Pioneer 6 lug versions.

More than likely, this may have been a one off special order.  And to that, I say, “Very well done!”   This snare drum is an absolute joy to play with its very rich sound!

One flaw worth noting is that the is one panel which has yellowed some and is definitely important to mention!

This particular drum retains most of the factory parts with the heads and snare wires being the exceptions.  This drum has the pointy blue and olive badge which indicates that this drum was produced anywhere from the late 1960s all the way up to the late 1970s.

Whether your music is Jazz, Rock, Funk, Fusion, Ska, Reggae, Hard Rock, Soul, R&B, Country to Punk, Metal or R&B, this snare drum is a great choice with it’s attention grabbing tone!
