a RARE, VINTAGE 1982 TAMA IMPERIALSTAR 12×15″ DOUBLE-HEADED MOUNTED TOM in JET BLACK WRAP in GOOD, USED CONDITION!
This Tama tom features 8 lugs on the batter side as well as the resonant side. The badge is the “T” badge which Tama used on their drums of this era and states a serial number beginning with “82”. This drum retains the tom mount. The “One Touch Muffler” is present but is missing the dial knob for adjustment.
Being from 1982, this Imperialstar does not have the reinforcing rings which were used in the earlier models but does have the black and grey speckled Zolacoating.
Finally, this drum is equipped with a pair CS black dot heads which may need to be replaced but I am leaving that up to you.
Drilling down and diving deeper, what you should expect to see when you pull this rare drum out of the box, is a used drum with a Jet Black finish which has minor scratches and scuffs but can’t be seen in detail unless you are about 1 foot away from it.
The seam is still tight.
The chrome has light to moderate pitting and the lug receivers themselves have rust.
The bearing edges appear to be true and there is no ply separation.
This is a very solid, used drum. which could stand a very thorough cleaning and detailing to what suits you. It could also be used right out of the box, if you wish.
