For your consideration and immense pleasure, a VINTAGE 1960s 19” ZILDJIAN A series MEDIUM CRASH RIDE CYMBAL, in GOOD to GREAT USED CONDITION, ready to use right of the box in which it will be shipped to you in. This cymbal has strong, musical crash qualities in favor of ride cymbal definition. It could be used as an alternate ride cymbal but use as a primary ride cymbal would depend on the musical situation in which you find yourself.
Given its weight, bow profile, bell shape and bell size, this cymbal would be best described as a MEDIUM CRASH or possibly a MEDIUM THIN CRASH. In my opinion is would be a stretch to call it a thin crash.
This cymbal, being approximately 60 years old, is free of patina, is thin enough to be bendable, features a more “hand involved” lathing and a crisp, large 1960s 3 dot stamp embossed in the surface. With those 60 years comes signs of use such as stick marks, fingerprints and the like, as well as small, inconsequential nicks around the edge. The only flaw in this cymbal is a “chip” in the top surface of the cymbal, near the stamp, which I have never seen anything like in 40 plus years of drumming. Still, this is a nice, musical sounding cymbal and should last for quite some time, even with the mentioned flaw.
…..and…..vintage A Zildjians never go out of style and this cymbal is no exception!
This cymbal weighs 1933 grams and has a voice which speaks bright and musically and the bell produces a mix penetrating “ping”!
