For your consideration, a pair of BLOCK LETTER ERA 13″ ZILDJIAN SPECIAL K/Z COMBO HI HAT CYMBALS in GREAT CONDITION!
The serial numbers begin with the letters “IF” which indicate that these hi hats were part of the 1996 production year and still retain the ink logos and block lettering of the the pre-2004 K Zildjian line as well as featuring the wider lathing on both surfaces of the top cymbal.
These 27 year old cymbals weigh in at 885 grams (top) and 1415 grams (bottom) and feature a ground-breaking at the time, K top cymbal matched with a Z series DYNO BEAT bottom, with the result being one of Zildjian’s most popular and desirable hi hat pairs ever!
These hi hat cymbals have no cracks, chips or keyholing. The bottom cymbal is very clean with the top surface of the top cymbal having a nice patina. There is also sticker residue on the underneath side of the bottom cymbal’s bell which could be cleaned off. These cymbals could stand a mild cleaning but I am leaving that up to you.
Zildjian describes these Hi Hats as “The original ‘cross-matched’ Hi Hats. A concept invented by Zildjian, K/Z’s are the most played Hi Hats in the world. A K Hi Hat top matched with a Z series Hi Hat bottom. A fabulous combination of a darker, more musical stick sound with a bright and sharply defined ‘chip’ sound.”
This size and model were, at one time, the preference of Dave Weckl for a pair of primary hi hats and are great for live and studio work!
