For your consideration and immense pleasure, a 20” ZILDJIAN A series EARTH RIDE CYMBAL, BRILLIANT FINISH, in EXCELLENT USED CONDITION, featuring the unlathed surfaces, both top and bottom, giving it that raw, dirty and unfinished look, except that this one is the rare and shiny BRILLIANT finish! This cymbal is void of any logos or model designation but is definitely the genuine article.
The stamp indicates that this is one of the earliest examples of the Earth ride as it somewhat different than the usual trade stamp as the “AVEDIS” is there but very faintly along with the word “GENUINE”.
This cymbal is great for Rock music, amplified music or anywhere volume requires that your ride cymbal has the most penetrating sound possible! This cymbal has obvious signs of use such as fingerprints, stick marks, some spots of tarnish, tape residue and the like – giving it great character and a played in sound and feel! This cymbal has no cracks, chips or keyholing and is ready to be part of your arsenal!
While you could clean this cymbal, I wouldn’t but I am leaving that up to you!
This cymbal weighs a healthy 3691 grams and has great stick definition, strong sustain, and the bell has an attention getting, guitar player splitting “ping”!

At one time, a favorite of Grateful Dead Drummer Mickey Hart, as well as Bun E. Carlos of Cheap Trick, Zildjian describes this cymbal as “Extra heavy weight, a large cup, and funky finish without tonal grooves provide special characteristics for both Jazz and Rock work. A strong, clear bell sound penetrates through the heaviest amplified rock music. Positive ‘ping’ definition even with heavy sticking, allows a drummer to ‘lay hard’ into the cymbal without losing the beat.”
While Zildjian has discontinued this model of cymbal, the new, “never having been hit” copy of this cymbal would set you back $424.95 and that would be without shipping and/or taxes! And that’s if you could find one —— but lucky for you, you found this one!
